I got my first experience in the stock market when I pursued my MBA in finance at IIT Kharagpur in the year 2011. My quest for knowledge accompanied by good learning abilities made me to co-found a ‘Student driven fund’, aiming to beat the large cap index by doing Equity research analysis.
My learning curve got widened when I got the greatest opportunity of doing my internship at TVS capital, a private equity fund. After clearing entry-level examinations of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA – USA), my passion towards capital markets made me to work at various banks, where I got the nitty gritty of RISK MANAGEMENT.
My investment journey commenced in the year 2011 where I allocated my capital towards equity stocks and mutual funds over a long-term basis, which has been reasonably paid off. My F&O experience in that period taught me the lesson that shaped everything since: survival before returns.
I turned my wounds into wisdom. I realized the importance of ‘Psychology ‘(the non-quantitative) part which is essential to sustain in this business.
As the adage goes, “The greatest glory is not in ‘never failing’, but in rising every time we fail”. I sprinted back my journey again in the year 2019. My new gained wisdom and experience have shaped the disciplined, risk-first approach I follow today.
We have developed algorithmic software that primarily focuses on risk management rather than chasing high profits, and aims to keep drawdowns controlled through defined risk limits. We are in the process of seeking empanelment as an algo provider under SEBI’s algorithmic-trading framework, and the software will be offered for subscription through our partner broker’s platform once approvals are in place.
